Leading lights of the ‘new’ (or, by the time this gets published and the interweb has been entirely replaced by speaking iPhones, ‘crashed and burned again’) Rawkus, the Kidz In The Hall duo of Naledge and Double O are both proud to be Ivy League college graduates. Which we imagine is some sort of a cross between an episode of Sweet Valley High (possibly the one where Jessica and Elizabeth audition for a part in a Double Vision cosmetics commercial, only to then discover that the company tests on animals), and being made to analyse ‘Nature Of The Threat’ for three years straight.
Nevertheless, their ‘School Was My Hustle’ album, with its true school aesthetic brought up to date by the new school to become now school stylings (Note: Schoolisms not necessarily used in accordance with the Ridenhour Memo 1988), is certainly fresh. So, with their edumacational credentials in check, we hit up emcee Naledge for ten reasons why the kids of today should burn those Young Jeezy thoughts and stay in school. And, unlike most of the bullshit on this here ‘blog’, we actually did do this…
1. Sorority girls
2. Most jobs tend to like their workers to have degrees
3. Fraternity parties
4. Spring Break (preferably at an exotic Island or Latin country)
5. Beer-Pong is actually an acceptable talent
6. You can’t get drafted to the military while in school
7. More time to mooch off of your parents
8. Co-Ed showers
9. School – the only place where drinking partners become business partners
10. Financial Aid cheques
