We could have gone on with this. We could have spent a small fortune tracking down records like The Korner Boys’ ‘Sage of Roxanne’, G-Mann’s ‘Roxanne is my girl’, Overnite Bandits’ ‘Roxanne’s Baby’ and East Coast Crew’s ‘No More Roxanne’. We could even have included the largely unrelated ‘The Roxanne Plague’ by bass maestro Maggotron. And even then we’d still have to find room for ‘Roxanne is fat’ by The Potato Chips and Tanganyika’s hard to trace ‘My name’s Tanganyika (not Lil’ Roxanne)’. As for UTFO’s ‘Calling her a crab’ and Blowfly’s ‘Blowfly meets Roxanne’, they’ll have to wait for another day. And we’ll bring you ‘The Real Deal’ by Elease the Original Roxanne when we can find a copy. And we didn’t bother to rip the ‘Complete Roxanne Story’ LP of cover versions for you either, because it’s woeful. Instead, we end with 3 fitting tracks, one telling us that Roxanne died (of too much rap, appparently. We know how she feels), one begging for ‘No More Roxanne’ (and therefore exacerbating the issue), and a fine megamix of the original tracks that started all the fuss in the first place. Later this week we’ll up a folder so you can download the tracks and label scans for that entirely inessential 1985 Roxanne war iPod playlist.

Thanks for putting up all these Roxanne tracks, been curious about many of them for years now.
Obviously a lot of these tracks do not represent hip hop music and its finest but they are a great document to the time, and are all still exciting and fun to listen to
Cheers
