We’re not usually ones to just throw up YouTube links on the main page for the hell of it. But like many people, we only ever visit video streaming sites to relive the homemade Yo! MTV Raps VHS collections that were long ago wiped or lost 10 house moves ago, or to check out a video from crews we weren’t even aware had the budget to make videos (Taking Your Business! Top Choice Clique!). But then we hit on the (half-assed) idea of chronicling the careers of our favourite rappers and crews through their timeless videos. We had to start with Brad Jordan, one of the few guys who can do gravitas with a sideways baseball cap.

Ice Cube & Geto Boys – St Ides commerical

The Cube and Death Row era Dre album woulda been great but i really wouldn’t have said no to a Cube & Geto Boys album either if this commercial and Two To The Head off the 3rd G. Rap album were anything to go by.

Geto Boys – 6 Feet Deep

Til Death Do Us Part is the best Geto Boys LP and it established ‘Face as the hardest rapper out as Cube was falling off by that point. 2 classic singles.
Scarface ft. Too $hort, Tela & Devin – Fuck Faces

The 2nd best filthy posse track of the late 90s after Sho ‘Nuff. I could really do with a new ‘Face and Devin collabo track right about now.
Geto Boys – Damn, It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta

Great video and all but it’s almost superfluous now after the Office Space scene with this track, innit?
Scarface – My Block

He’s only in this right at the end but it’s one of his best videos to date. A perfect marriage of music and image.
